From 23-24 June 2025, the THRILL consortium gathered in Hamburg, Germany, for this year’s General Assembly, hosted by our partners at European XFEL.
The meeting opened on Monday morning with a comprehensive status update by project coordinator Vincent Bagnoud, who reviewed key milestones, deliverables, and project highlights from recent months. This summary set the stage for a full day of presentations from all work-package and task leaders, many of which sparked lively and productive discussions among attendees.
Following the successful first day, participants enjoyed a guided tour of the European XFEL facility and exhibition, gaining valuable insight into the host institution’s work. The evening concluded with a shared dinner, offering a relaxed setting to reflect on the day and exchange ideas for future collaboration.
On Tuesday, the coordinator provided a forward-looking perspective on the next steps for THRILL, outlining upcoming activities and long-term goals, including new members from academia and industry. The consortium encourages all persons interested in having collaboration with THRILL to contact us until end of the year, in view of future common research activities. The assembly concluded with encouraging feedback from the board, acknowledging the strong efforts across all work packages. A board meeting wrapped up the two-day event.
